Sports School Project Bolivia

The dream began and a goal was set in 2019 to build a new school and gym for 1,200 children. The old school and gym were destroyed by a storm and needed to be rebuilt. The school would have been closed because they did not have a gym and would not have been able to continue doing their work. The city told them that they had to close because they needed a gym to function in the climate there. Therefore, at the end of last year, SRSinternational took this project over and said we will build a big hall as that is necessary for the school, the children and the local church.

In December of 2020, the goal of the gym/hall became a reality and many children will now benefit from this facility. It started from ground zero. The whole floor had to be made: the foundation, electricity… We finished building the hall from the foundation to the roof. The people were very thankful and had the idea to paint the floor in the colors of the German flag.

The school is famous for its pro sports work. They have been national champions with their under 18 soccer team. Furthermore, they are successful in Volleyball and Track and Field.

The school is situated in Cobija, close to the borders of Peru and Brazil. As they do a lot of social work, they support Indians and other children that seldom have access to education. As the school is a private school, the students must pay to attend. The reason why the school still has not enough money for rebuilding their buildings, is that 8 out of 10 students get a scholarship. Otherwise most students could not afford going to this school.

The old school needs to be rebuilt and renovated. 8 more classrooms have to be built on the existing school building. There will be a library, office and sanitary installation constructed in a new building.
